So much is thrown at us Every. Single. Day. So many lies we are told and have a tendency to believe. Whether it is about us as individuals, our society, our church, and religion, etc., we are bombarded from every side. It hit me recently that we need the Armor of God more than ever.

But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God’s approval.  Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God.  In every battle, you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.  And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit – which is the Word of God.

Ephesians 6:14-17 LAB

Recently, we had Tom and Carol Nuelle from Pure and Simple Ministries speak at our church. They talked about purity in all aspects of our lives – including our hearts and minds. As they were speaking, it hit me how important it is to be able to recognize all the input that is trying to break through for what it is – Satan’s agenda.

No Chinks in the Armor

He uses every single tactic he can to break through the Armor. And, if it isn’t strong enough, he’ll worm his way in. Many times it’s the slow-drip method. If we see or hear something often enough, it becomes the norm, and it’s not so disturbing after a while.

But that just isn’t what God wants! He tells us to,

…be careful – watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart.

1 Peter 5:8-9 LAB

That verse makes me angry! Satan lies in wait – looking for some chink in the Armor. He is constantly looking for ways to destroy. It makes me even more determined to reinforce my Armor! Thankfully, God has given us, “everything you need for living a truly good life: He even shares His own glory and His own goodness with us!” (2 Peter 1:3)

Hallelujah!!! With God on our side, we can overcome! We can build our Armor strong enough to withstand Satan’s attacks and come out victorious. And for that, I am so grateful.
